Trip to : Predjamski grad (Predjama castle) Slovenia

PREDJAMSKI GRAD

This time I made a trip to Predjamski grad, or in english Predjama castle and I should say what I experienced there and what is my feeling about the place. If you're going there, you must know that the Castle is around 11km from POSTOJNA ( city ) and its near Predjama settlement, if you're not sure where is it, use this http://zemljevid.najdi.si/index_maps.jsp?tab=maps&x1=439106&y1=71437.29999999999&zoom=96000
you can zoom out or in and easily find the road to the castle.

We came to the castle around 11 AM, the sun was high and the weather was really nice. You can allready feel you're near history of the place and still you can breath the clean and refreshing air of the nature and nearby mountains.

A 100m (more less) away from the castle there is the parking spot, you can park your car or whatever you drive and directly nearby is the LIPA tree where the ERAZEM Predjamski is supposed to be burried underneath ( you must take a picture of that). Near the Lipa tree you can see an old church, but that day it was closed all we could see is the nice ambient inside, but never learned anything about it :). So again to the castle, move towards the castle and meter after meter you will be more amazed of the magnificent infrastructure of those time and nature it surrounds. The waterfall from the cave, the river, the field which was used for medieval knight games, the CASTLE itself like "carved" in the mountain rock. On the right we saw a really nice and calm traditional bar. I thought it would be really great to drink a cup of coffee in this really nice morning or noon :) in this really refreshing air and within the site of the Castle itself. When we drank the coffee we went to the castle, the gate was lowered and there you can find a tourist guide which gives you some Information on leaflets about the castle and the rooms in it. The entrance fee for adults is 7 EUROS ( not that much for such history:) ) and you can roam the castle on your own and take photos of it. The rooms, the ambient, the weapons, armour, the SIGHT from the upper balkony of the castle, the defending tower ( arrowproof:) ) the cave itself, it was all amazing! I allmost felt like beeing the King of the Castle :). Anyway I promise to everyone who want to experience the history and the architecture most of all that refreshing air that they've got there, that you will be a 100% pleased if you visit this castle. The people there are really polite and nice, the sight and the castle is a real life time experience. I'm going to post some of my pictures to give you a proof, but in live is even more better.
